We are proud to announce the delivery of two photovoltaic solar power plants in the stations of Fez and Benguerir , made in partnership with SNCF HUBS & Connexions and the ONCF (National Office of Railways) . These installations mark a new step in our commitment to a global and sustainable energy transition. This project is part of the Private Sector Assistance Fund (FASEP) , a system supported by the Directorate General of the French Treasury. Thanks to this program, we were able to contribute to the equipment of these stations with innovative and functional solar shades, which produce green energy while meeting the practical needs of users. For Benguerir station, we have also integrated charging stations for electric vehicles, a first for the ONCF. This installation illustrates our desire to offer complete solutions adapted to the challenges of sustainable mobility. With a total installed power of 145 kWc , these power plants will produce around 230 MWh of decarbonized electricity each year, allowing a reduction of 161 tonnes of CO2 emissions per year. To illustrate the performance, here is a scheme drawn from the day of September 15 at Benguerir station:
Electricity production and consumption at Benguerir station - September 15, 2024
Electricity production and consumption at Benguerir station - September 15, 2024
This graph highlights the excellent ratio between the electricity consumption of the station (in blue) and the production of the photovoltaic umbre (in yellow). Such a synergy between local production and consumption reduces dependence on traditional networks and maximizes energy efficiency. This project also highlights the immense potential of Moroccan stations: a feasibility study carried out within the framework of FASEP reveals that 40 other stations could be equipped with similar systems, for a total power of 12.6 MWC and savings of 14,000 tons of CO2 annually. These achievements are only on the start. We continue to work with our partners to extend this type of initiatives and accelerate the decarbonation of infrastructure around the world.
