The development of solar energy is a key axis in the energy and ecological transition. Indeed, the IPCC report mentions a need to invest in sustainable energies. France aims to achieve 40% renewable energy in its energy mix by 2030, compared to 20% currently, but also to reduce GHG emissions by at least 55% compared to 1990.

The production of photovoltaic solar energy is an effective lever for enhancing the assets of businesses, communities and farmers.

GIRASOLE ENERGIES, NEW INDEPENDENT PLAYER IN PHOTOVOLTAIC SOLAR ENERGY PRODUCTION

Girasole Energies is a new French & independent producer of photovoltaic electricity. Mirova, an affiliate of Natixis Investment Managers and dedicated 100% to sustainable investment, is entering the capital with 96 million euros to support and accelerate the development of Girasole.

To produce local, low-carbon and competitive electricity, Girasole develops, finances, builds and operates photovoltaic power plants throughout France.
Through an integrated approach, Girasole deploys solar projects from A to Z on all types of supports: roof, parking lot, ground.

Girasole Energies, positioned as a producer of photovoltaic electricity, provides comprehensive support to a multitude of players. That the latter wish to participate in the collective effort to deploy ENR in the territory, that they seek to financially enhance their land by giving it additional use, that they are concerned about bringing their assets into compliance with the increasing regulatory obligations or they are looking for a way to protect themselves from the increase in their energy bill, Girasole will be able to support them.

Photovoltaics makes it possible to respond to 3 current emergencies:

• Ecological: Sustainable energy production
• Economical: Solar is the cheapest energy of all
• Strategic: Allows energy independence

DEVELOP A 100% INTEGRATED AND HERITAGE APPROACH: FROM DESIGN TO OPERATION

Girasole is launching into third-party photovoltaic projects.

Financing, design and operation of power plants, Girasole renovates existing land (roofs, parking) to install photovoltaic roofs and operates them over 20 years. Girasole will have the advantage of having a fixed resale price from EDF.

By letting Girasole operate their power plants, land owners (communities, farmers, etc.) receive financial compensation under different models:

• Rental property income
• Prime
• Reuse the sustainable energy produced by solar panels for their needs

The Girasole Energies management team comes from the Third Investment solar division of the Enerlis group. To date, Girasole Energies has around forty employees (salespeople, solar engineers, project managers) and has a portfolio of 100 power plants in operation and 500 projects in development.
