Enerlis is now a member of the Bilan Carbone Association (ABC) and joins a network of more than 400 members, who, by working on the low-carbon transition, are all fighting at their own level against global warming.
To do this, the Bilan Carbone Association provides them with a set of training courses and tools aimed at establishing carbon accounting for organizations. In particular, the Bilan Carbone® method – developed in 2004 by ADEME , constantly improved since then – makes it possible to calculate the quantity and distribution of greenhouse gas emissions from a company or community.
Remember that the greenhouse gas emissions report, or BEGES, constitutes the essential starting point for any effective and sustainable reduction strategy.
There are 3 emission perimeters, better known as scopes:
- → Scope 1 brings together the direct emissions of an organization: consumption of gas, fuel oil, gasoline, etc.
- → Scope 2 designates indirect emissions linked to the use of secondary energy. These are emissions induced by the production of electricity, steam, heat and cold consumed by the organization.
- → Scope 3 brings together all other indirect emissions, divided into sixteen categories, including: purchase of products and services, use and end of life of the products and services sold, commuting, business travel, investments, waste, etc.
The GHG emissions report imposed on companies and public bodies* covers scopes 1 and 2. However, taking into account scope 3 is strongly recommended, knowing that it represents the majority of emissions induced by an organization, between 70 and 95% depending on the case.
Enerlis offers to support you in the production of your GHG report, by applying the certified Bilan Carbone® method.
Note that different formulas are possible: carrying out an assessment covering only scopes 1 and 2, or integrating scope 3, at the organization's choice. Enerlis has also received authorization to carry out “Heritage & Services” BEGES on behalf of communities.
Together, let's contribute to the advent of a post-carbon society!
The following organizations must carry out a GHG assessment every 3 years:
– Companies with more than 500 employees, or more than 250 for overseas departments;
– Territorial communities of more than 50,000 inhabitants;
– Public establishments with more than 250 agents.
